Joseph E. Andrisen, fondly known as “Joe” by family, friends and associates, passed away peacefully at his home in San Marcos, TX, following a lengthy illness. Born on Nov. 22, 1937, in Clarkfield, MN, he passed away on Dec. 10, 2016 at the age of 79. Joe enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as soon as he was old enough, serving our country in Scotland, England, Viet Nam, Italy and finally at the Air Force tracking station in Lamar, CO, as a radio operator, where he retired as a Tech. Sergeant after 23 years of service.
Joe then enrolled at Lamar Community College, where he received his Associate’s Degree, transferring to Adams State University in Alamosa, CO, where he graduated with a BA Degree in Business Administration. After graduation, he began his second career as a Housing Administrator at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, TX, retiring after more than 15 years of employment.
Joe is survived by his wife, Eliza Tunney (Campbell), of the family home; daughters Rose Marie Berglund (Paul) of San Marcos , Sharon L. Light (Rock) of Alamosa, CO, and Lynn Andrisen of San Marcos; five grandchildren T.J., Britni, Brett, Jala and Adam; twin brother, John and sister, Rose Ann. Joe will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends he’s made over the years.
